#FridayFlashback for #spooktober
One of my scary-ish graphic novels, a retelling of Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow published by @capstonepub.bsky.social. Illustrator Tod Smith did an amazing job, and I have some of his art from the book.

Aurora and the Orc by Lewis Trondheim was everything I hoped it'd be: odd, quirky, and humorous as well as things I didn't quite expect: bloody and gruesome in a weirdly funny and kid-friendli-ish way.
@blakehoena.bsky.socialThe first of yjr many #graphicnovelsforkids that I have written over the years, and for @capstonepub.bsky.social Graphic Library Brand.
I may even have a few more #graphicnovels due out from Capstone in the ever near future.
@blakehoena.bsky.socialAurora and the Orc by @lewistrondheim.bsky.social.
I'm just a few pages in and feel like I've found a brother-in-humor. It's quirky, disturbing (in the best possible ways), and captures the oddity that is a child's sense of humor.
