Thanks for letting me report on #GMS2026, Univ! www.univ.ox.ac.uk/news/the-gen...
The @guildmedmak.bsky.social were delighted to sponsor the Exhibition & Creative Showcase at #GMS2026 🤩 You can find out more about our founders’ & members’ contributions in our NEW blog (Wives of Bath artwork by @hellomizk.bsky.social) www.guildmedmak.com/blog/the-gui...
Baby steps… #GMS2026
So thrilled with all the beautiful artwork from #GMS2026! Can’t wait to frame the lino print I bought from Marie Besson! And thank you to Ella for the Pearl Maiden card, Meg & many more for the zine pages! ✨🤩❤️🔥 My office is going to have a glow up this term!!
Our #GMS2026 Gender & Creativity keynotes went above & beyond! @hellomizk.bsky.social, Teresa Pilgrim, @mirabelledomine.bsky.social & @lukeewalker.bsky.social were ✨INCREDIBLE✨ They each inspired us with creativity in theory & practice, from comics & zines to Into the Mystic: the #MargeryKempe film!
As well as the exhibition, we had a CREATIVE SHOWCASE at #GMS2026 featuring poetry, storytelling, creative non fiction, video work, & even a beautiful performance of Hildegard of Bingen! Check out the captions in this post. Sponsored by @guildmedmak.bsky.social
#GMS2026 folks should keep their eyes peeled for this fantastic publication incoming next year! 👏
Some of you told me that you couldn't scan the QRs codes because there was no service in the room, also this was displayed horizontally, instead of vertically, so I leave the piece here too. In case there are problems with the codes I have added the links to my link tree on IG #GMS2026
Another absolute highlight of #GMS2026 was our CREATIVE EXHIBITION, beautifully curated by Brooklyn Arnot & sponsored by @guildmedmak.bsky.social ✨ Delegates shared the most incredible handmade work (credits in the captions).
One of the most thrilling parts of #GMS2026 was our CREATIVE RAFFLE of handmade prizes donated by delegates. We raised £300+ for a fantastic charity called Blossom LGBT, with whom our keynote Teresa Pilgrim has worked closely ✨🙏🏻👏 It was lovely to be able to give back to the community o/s the conf!
We had a beautiful Quiet Room at #GMS2026 which was also a craft room! Thanks to Teresa Pilgrim for the craft materials & zine-making inspiration, & Daisy Black for the books, weighted blanket, yoga mat, ear plugs, eye masks, books, soft toys; Ella for the fidget toys & 🦭Blankets/cushions mine.
So this may be shocking to admit after #GMS2026 but... I've never actually read the Book of Margery Kempe! Which edition is recommended?
I really don’t know where to start in thanking everyone who came to #GMS2026 & created such a gorgeous, supportive, & creative atmosphere! It was magical! ✨ And the highlight of my academic career 🥹 More photos, and blogposts, to follow! Keep your eyes peeled!
Long live the Long Cow of Rumination! 🐄💨 #GMS2026
It does! That’s such a lovely way of putting it, Kit 💜 #GMS2026
And many thanks to the Guild for sponsoring the Creative Showcase & Exhibition- my word, we had some ✨WONDERFUL✨ work on show! (Photos to follow!) #GMS2026
The Guild is enormously proud of all of its members who presented at the Gender and Medieval Studies Conference 2026 on 'Gender and Creativity' #GMS2026, organised by @drlauravarnam.bsky.social with @hellomizk.bsky.social giving the plenary. Three days of medieval creative-critical fertilisation!
Thanks to you all for attending and engaging with this paper performance specially designed for the #GMS2026 . This was my first performance ever, and the first time I played Mx B, more to come ☺️
Thank you, thank you, Kit 💜 Your point here about scholarship is key: ‘when it wants to be.’ We can all bring the #GMS2026 method to our scholarship! Kindness, courage, care, collaboration, and nourishment ❤️🔥
Thank you so much, David, for sharing your incredible performance with us ❤️ We really have been treated to some extraordinarily creative work during #GMS2026 ✨
