Dealbreaker Ch. 12: Your Choice
A beating heart is a silly, uncontrollable thing. While he dresses himself to meet Willow, Astarion's vascular system is more active than it has ever been — spare maybe the night they separated.
His heart poundsas the feeling of nervousness bubbles up inside of him, making him wonder if there's any good in this particular part of living. It only seems to make him lightheaded.

"And what about it?" She asks in place of any apology, just like she did after the explosion.
Twirling her way around him like she's learned to do.
If Astarion were a better person, he thinks, he would demand that they sit down and have a discussion. Two sensible people would talk about their conflicting feelings on the matter of Luna risking her life, or about the fact that they might care about each other, in general.
But Astarion isn't a good person, and neither of them are sensible.

Dealbreaker would be a LOT shorter if it weren’t for Shadowheart, who is often talking sense into Willow before she does something crazy.

Exhibit A is in Ch. 11 (out of 100), when she suggests that maybe Willow should go on a date with Astarion before having his babies 🤔♥️

Dealbreaker Ch. 11: Flowers!
"And, I'm sorry—" Shadowheart says, narrowing her eyes,
"why on Toril have you been thinking about this?"
Shadowheart leans forward in her chair, nearly pushing over her goblet as she clasps her hands between the two of them on the table. "You are insane, Willow, if you're considering this.
He— do you remember how you cried? The way he belittled you? I certainly remember, considering how loud all of it was."
"I do," Willow whispers, suddenly staring down into the woodgrain of the table, rather than Shadowheart's piercing green eyes. All of the embarrassed redness disappears from her face, suddenly replaced with a heavy dread, deep in the pit of her stomach. "But I don't want anyone else, Shadowheart, and if he would give me that, then..." Willow shakes her head as tears begin to build up behind her eyes. "I know it's stupid.
I'm so fucking stupid. But I love him, and he sent me flowers."
