I think the aesthetic of the #Backrooms derives from #GenZers being born in the 2000s. The material culture & styles of the late 80s into the 90s was old & worn to them, in nans' houses & old shows.

My backrooms would be striped 70s concrete, flowerprint couches, brown wood paneling, & ashtrays.
