I hated every challenge this week but decided to try the technical. Please witness my recipe-free dairy-free lemon meringue tart. (Didn’t make enough pastry for a 23cm tin which is why it looks a bit rough.)

Week 2, cooking a homemade version of a mass market cookie no one ever makes they just buy. But hey only 1 pound of sugar this week.

Also the signature bake on #GBBO this week was "American Cookies" which was the weirdest thing to hear.

Just before new GBBO, I finally caught up on last week’s technical. It did not go well (I used royal icing powder & added too much water!) The orange shortbread is a winner, though. Dairy-free for Spouse. 🔥

3-layer stout cake sandwiched with peanut buttercream. On the top is some peanut brittle and caramel sauce has been dripped down the sides

Two large slices removed - you can see all 3 layers and the lack of buttercream was m on the bottom tier

A single slice, placed on tinfoil. The bottom level of thin buttercream is especially egregious from this angle.
