@austingorton.bsky.socialSLS4 - X-Men: Gold Team Part 1
Moving on to the Gold Team, Bob Larkin gives us an extra shiny, sharply-defined Iceman (against an Archangel wing backdrop).

@austingorton.bsky.socialSLS3 - X-Men: Blue Team Part 3
The placement of the extra red foil X logo on these is weird; it almost seems like it's trying to "x out" the Fleer logo.

@austingorton.bsky.socialHere's the full nine card Hildebrandt Brothers image from the Fleer Ultra X-Men insert set (via The Marvel Art of the Brothers Hildebrandt book)

@austingorton.bsky.socialSLS2 - X-Men: Blue Team Part 2
In case you didn't notice, while the card fronts feature new art, the cardbacks are repeating the text from the previous Blue Team triptych.

@austingorton.bsky.socialSLS1- X-Men: Blue Team Part 1
The "Special Limited Subset" of six chase cards, exclusive to WalMart, offer up 2 more Team Triptychs for the Blue/Gold squads, featuring red foil lettering on the front

@austingorton.bsky.socialTP9 - Jean Grey
Wrapping up the nine-card Hildebrandt Bros. team-up subset.
But don't worry, there's still more inserts!

@austingorton.bsky.socialTP8 - Gambit & Bishop
Aw, from throwing exploding pies to being paired up on a trading card.
@austingorton.bsky.socialTP7 - Iceman & Sabretooth
I asked Fabian Nicieza about this set's continued placement of Sabretooth w/the X-Men & he said that Fleer mostly produced the cards on their w/o much from Marvel editorial (vs the earlier Skybox cards).
@austingorton.bsky.socialTP6 - Professor X
Featuring Xavier's huge noggin'.
"Of Earth?" Shouldn't it be "on Earth?"

@austingorton.bsky.socialTP5 - Wolverine
Wolverine, of course, gets his own dedicated card in the insert set.

@austingorton.bsky.socialTP4 - Rogue & Archangel
One of the fun things about this set is getting rare character pairings - like these two, who go years w/o sharing any on-page dialogue together.

@austingorton.bsky.socialTP3 - Beast & Jubilee
That sure is a way to depict Jubilee's power!
Also..."teenage tornado"?

@austingorton.bsky.socialTP2 - Psylocke & Cyclops
My Christmas gift wax box only netted me three of this insert set; this is one of them channeling a bit of that early 90s Psylocke/Cyclops flirtation subplot.
@austingorton.bsky.socialTP1 - Storm
The second insert subset is a 9 card "team portrait" in which one large image is split into ninths. They are all painted by the Hildebrandt Brothers, and like the Fatal Attractions cards, they are holofoil enhanced.
@austingorton.bsky.socialFA6- Exit: Wolverine!
I appreciate this subset's dedication to punctuation in its titles.
I never pull FA3, but did end up with three copies of this.
@austingorton.bsky.socialFA5- Magneto Defeated!
AKA Onslaught's conception.
All else aside, this is definitely one of the iconic images to come out of this story.
@austingorton.bsky.socialFA4 - Wolverine Crippled!
Despite having assembled a complete set (& some change) via the wax box of these cards I received for Christmas ages ago, this is the one Fatal Attractions insert I didn't pull.

@austingorton.bsky.socialFA3 - An X-Man No More!
The way Magneto is positioned seems to imply this is after he had his mind wiped (at which point Colossus began to care for him), but that comes on a later card.
@austingorton.bsky.socialFA2 - Cable Destroyed!
Hilariously, two of the seven installments of "Fatal Attractions" aren't referenced in this subset, in part because X-Men #25 gets two moments (sorry, X-Factor #92 and Excalibur #71!).
