A steep alpine pasture fills the lower half of the frame, bright grass with small pale flowers scattered through it. Six brown-and-white cattle graze or rest on the slope. The nearest lies in the lower right, facing the camera, with a white face, pink nose and a rust-brown body patched with white. Black and white landscape of a jagged mountain group under a heavy, turbulent sky. Clouds fill the upper two-thirds of the frame: dense, near-black masses across the top and upper left, opening toward the center and right into pale gray and white. The mountains occupy the lower third. A tall central peak with a rounded, broken top rises just right of center, its face dark and unevenly lit. To its left stands a slimmer pointed spire, and a serrated ridge of smaller towers steps down toward the far left edge. Right of the main peak, a lower summit and long ridgelines recede into pale fog, and a thick bank of white cloud drifts across the right side. Narrow, bright scree gullies run diagonally down the rock below the main peak and stand out against the dark stone. The image is built on a contrast of weight: a massive, dark sky pressing down on a smaller, sharper mountain mass. The scree gullies act as diagonal leading lines that carry the eye up into the main peak, where the brightest openings in the cloud sit just above and to its right and hold attention there. Fog banks overlap the ridgelines and separate them into layers, which creates depth. The tonal range runs from near-black to near-white, with the rock held in the midtones so the sky carries the mood. The result is foreboding rather than serene, and the monochrome treatment reduces the Dolomites to rock, vapor and light.

From my test roll through this camera, which did not have a pressure plate... so focus was a suggestion coupled with some luck!

i got 4-6 shots with decent enough focus
