From Far Away Episode 1 [First Impression] #KanataKara #FromFarAway #anime

I have kind of a hot take. I like the way Noriko gets isekai'd in the anime better. Yes, a bomb is more unique than a truck, but the fact that she sees that golden bird and has an irresistible urge to follow it plays better than her following a kicked ball to a suspicious bag. #FromFarAway

Sundays are probably not going to be as fun without #IneptVillainess and #GoodbyeLara, but I did enjoy #FromFarAway. It's giving me Fushigi Yugi flashbacks! What I really appreciate about it is that it doesn't shy away from there being a language barrier for our characters. It's very interesting.

I will say, volumes 6 and 7 are my favorite arc in the whole manga, and definitely a suitable season climax. It's just I don't know how the pace will handle that much material in one cour. I guess we'll see. #FromFarAway

-Noriko's Isekai cause of death: Van-san!
-Noriko is a nice girl with some genre saveyness.
-Izark saving Noriko from monsters were fun scenes.
-I like that there's a language barrier between Noriko & Izark. It makes their relationship interesting.

Based on some of the images in the ED, this cour might be going for up to volume 7, which is a little ambitious, but they might be able to pull it off. If they do, that’s the halfway point of the series so they’d only need one more season. #FromFarAway

The animation’s not particularly impressive, but it’s serviceable. I’ll need to see more but I think it’s working better than Red River. As much as I like saturated colors, the more pastel palette feels less flat. #FromFarAway

I don’t know how well they’re going to differentiate between when isekai language is being spoken versus when it’s actually supposed to be Japanese, but kudos to the subtitle team giving isekai language a different outline! #FromFarAway
