Found this on the road just now. It's solid metal. Where do you think it came from? Maybe part of a cast iron gate or railing?
#foundObject

Open metal ring, about 3/4 of a full circle. Outer diameter about 4 1/2 inches, diameter of the metal about 1/2 inch. Coated with a black, shiny substance. One of the open ends is mostly flat and coated with the black substance, as if it was made that way, the other end looks broken and rusty.

I'm hoping I can paint more of these and share some of the older vases I made through out the years.

Felt like Mr. Magoo today. From afar, this appeared to be a tipsy gentleman sliding off a chair perched on a stone fence ala Humpty Dumpty. 🧥☀️🪑

#foundobject

Eye-level outdoor photograph of a blue-and-white pinstriped seersucker suit jacket on a wooden hanger, slouched empty across a carved wooden dining chair placed outside on a concrete slab in bright sunlight. The limp sleeves and draped hem create the comedic silhouette of an invisible figure resting in the chair, framed by sunlit trees and foliage in the background.

Packa Pappas Kappsäck (Pack Daddy's Suitcases) by Michael Johansson, 2006 (suitcases)
#michaeljohansson #art #contemporaryart #foundobject

Sculptural installation titled "Packa Pappas Kappsäck" (Pack Daddy's Suitcases) by Michael Johansson, 2006, constructed from found vintage suitcases. A large cream-coloured hard-shell suitcase, open and lying flat on a white gallery floor, contains within it a precisely fitted stack of progressively smaller vintage suitcases nested inside one another like Russian dolls — each case fitting exactly within the one below it, their handles, clasps, and locks all visible and facing outward. The suitcases vary in colour — navy blue, teal, tan, orange-red, black, brown, olive green, dark grey — and in material and era, spanning several decades of mid-twentieth century luggage design. The fit between each layer is so exact that the entire collection appears to have been engineered rather than found, though Johansson sources and selects his objects from second-hand markets and assembles them by patient measurement. The outer case's lid is open and propped, revealing the full stacked interior. Against the plain white floor and wall, the work reads simultaneously as a feat of obsessive ordering and as a quiet meditation on accumulation, inheritance, and the things passed down — the title's reference to a father's suitcases giving the nested objects a familial and elegiac resonance.
