I’ve found it pays to be sceptical: never trust anything that looks simple from a distance.

Red clover is a good example. Get closer and the flower head becomes wonderfully complicated.

Chives are generally expected to spend their lives improving potatoes.

Occasionally, however, they put on flowers like these and become rather grand about the whole business. 🌿💜
