Think countries like #Canada give a damn about #FreeSpeech? No nation-state has a good record on it. In 1918 on #ThisDayInHistory the #IWW was outlawed in Canada. Their crime? Opposition to the #FirstWorldWar and the killing fields to which the #WorkingClass were shipped to die.

We are delighted to welcome Michelle Carr as a new Barnthorn author.

Her biography tells the story of her great-great-great uncle Frederick Barter VC MC, a remarkable yet quiet man.

We look forward to sharing more about her book.
