Wiyi Yani U Thangani. Women’s Voices. Reweaving the social fabric for systemic change and First Nations gender justice.

An Institute elevating First Nations Gender Justice for systems change. Translating to ‘Women’s Voices in Bunuba language, the Wiyi Yani U Thangani Institute for First Nations Gender Justice is Australia’s first institute dedicated to advancing the rights, knowledges, and leadership of First Nations women, girls, and gender-diverse people for lasting change. Included in the tile is the cover of Wiyi Yani U Thangani's 2020 report, 'Women;s Voices: Securing our rights, securing our future.'

Guided by ancestral knowledge, cultural protocols and lived experiences, the Wiyi Yani U Thangani Institute’s mission is to: reweave the social fabric; build collaborations with all parts of society to collectively heal and regenerate caring, peaceful systems; realise First Nations gender justice.

Their Vision for the Future: “The world upholds and responds in reciprocity to the rights and lives of First Nations women and girls in all our diversity. We sing our songs, live and care within Country in cycles of time for the wealth and health of generations to come so our children, forever, thrive and prosper.”
