what i wrote on my tumblr :3 (peep the alt text!) #lesbian #fictosexual

the same toonbian flag from the beginning of the thread without the title on top.

what is a toonbian?

it speaks for itself - a lesbian who also shows attraction to cartoon characters! you can consider it a sister term to fictosexual, or in some cases, a example of comphet.

though for me, this idea came about when looking at the characters in fiction i tend to lean towards - androgynous, fluid in presentation, infatuated with women - sounds a little lesbian, doesn't it?
who can be a toonbian?

are you attracted exclusively to anyone not male? if you like men, do you find they are only fictional, perhaps with a stylized quality? are your women or others similarly stylized? then you qualify!

it doesn't have to be specifically for western animation, either. the toonheads, furries, and anime communities have been linked for decades! if you have a love who is from an anime or video game, you count too!

although i'm a believer in labels not being strict, i would prefer this to be exclusive to lesbians as the suffix dictates. you are more than welcome to create your flavor of toon appreciation!

gonna be honest, i've only been lesbian for like, 3 months, so i don't have the proposed meanings of the sunset colors committed to memory. i can tell you that i manipulated said colors to be like 20th century eyecatches!

the music notes are a nod to merrie melodies, or merry-go-round gone broke! even if you're not a warner bros aficionado, you could agree that cartoons have a big connection to music as a whole.

the stippling in the middle with the classic white are meant to honor those who are in printed media, like comics and manga!

though symbolism aside, i would emphasize for my interpretation harmony in chaos and gender-noncomformity.

also i don't know the consensus of the labrys flag and i don't align with it personally, but if an equivalent should be made, please use a rubber mallet in place of the axe. that's all i ask.

inspiration sparked recently and got an idea for a new id/flag! #lesbian #fictosexual

the toonbian pride flag with its title overlayed on top of it! the colors of the sunset flag are made into the rings reminiscent of the eyecatches at the end of 20th century cartoons. heart-shaped musical notes are added in their area. the middle is white with a stippled overlay.
