Some delicate looking lilac-coloured wild #Cyclamen popped up at the bottom of the garden yesterday. It looks like it's a spring flower, but is actually an autumn/winter one, flowering from late August to December in the UK #WildflowerHour #FavouritePlant #BloomScrolling #Flowers #Autumn

In SW Ireland in August and this Sea Spleenwort was my #FavouritePlant of 2026 which I stumbled across on a stone culvert on Bray Head, Valentia Island

Not in a sea cave or on a salt sprayed cliff which made it more unexpected and a wow factor

#favouriteplant is a hard one after such a magically botanical year but finally meeting Arctic Sandwort (and both subspecies about a week apart!) is high up there! #wildflowerhour

Narrowed it down to two for #favouriteplant of 2026. Both were ones that I'd wanted to see for quite some time. Spotted Rock-rose the more spectacular and rare and massively assisted by @mattrjones.bsky.social Lesser Marshwort, not quite as pretty but was all my own work.

Late picking #favouriteplant of the year for #wildflowerhour but this is right up there. I believe it is Utricularia australis with that flat lip that turns up a little at the edges. In ditches at Canada Farm on Somerset Levels during the excellent Dipterists Forum week in July. Native plant✅!

I joined @dunnjons.bsky.social and @thenewgalaxy.bsky.social on one of their brilliant Kent orchid tours this year, and saw a Late Spider orchid for my first time. We also found a magnificent v. flavescens, and reached 14 different orchids!
