Short poem for my favorite month. Written when I was living in #LowellMA. Not sure if it’s actually finished or not,
so I’ll just leave it like this here. #AutumnPoem #FallPoem #FragmentFriday #FragmentsFriday

“October rain”

All day scraping
the mustard leaves,
spreading them on
the cobblestones.

Happy first morning of Fall! Here’s a fall poem I wrote four years ago after driving through Andover after dropping my wife off at work.

From my chapbook “Beyond the Spaghettiville Bridge”… still inexplicably available from @alienbuddhapress.bsky.social

“Hit and run”

I’d been told that
an oak tree leaf
caught mid-spin from
breaking earthward

from its oak tree
in fall brought the
one stopping to
catch it fortune.

Judging how on
one-thirty-three
that beater smacked
one Thursday, sent

it staggering
then sprawling, then
sped off, no one
told the driver.
