Wide interior view of the church in Eschfeld, Germany. Almost every visible architectural surface is covered with colourful sacred paintings. Deep blue, red, gold, green and ochre fields fill the ribbed vaults, arches and walls with biblical figures, angels and narrative scenes. The repeated pointed arches draw the eye toward the altar and create an exceptionally rich, immersive painted interior. Photograph by Victor Kemp.
