Hitomi Kanzaki
@sarssol.bsky.socialDilandau is so incredibly normal, you should put him in charge of your entire military
#Escaflowne
@sarssol.bsky.socialI see we've reached the part of the love triangle where Allen starts randomly acting like a possessive jerk out of nowhere so Hitomi's ultimate choice of Van becomes obvious
#Escaflowne
@sarssol.bsky.socialThe toxic catgirl incest yuri scene might have been pivotal in the history of anime if it wasn't in service of their crush on Folken
#Escaflowne
@sarssol.bsky.socialReally cannot claim that I foresaw "the evil empire uses their reality warping fate alteration engine to interfere with Hitomi's romantic prospects" as a plot point—complete with Folken getting in a dig at his little brother's lack of romantic courage
#Escaflowne
@sarssol.bsky.socialThe emperor of Zaibach gives serious God emperor of Dune vibes with his fate obsession and the way just his head sticks out of all the machinery keeping him alive
#Escaflowne
@sarssol.bsky.socialFolken really is hilariously petty. "My little brother has a catgirl obsessed with him? Fine, I will simply get TWO catgirls obsessed with me!"
#Escaflowne
@sarssol.bsky.socialBizarrely hilarious for Escaflowne not to be an ancient relic of a forgotten race, but rather the creation of a perfectly extant highly advanced race who will casually warp in for a repair call and bill exorbitant amounts for it
#Escaflowne
@sarssol.bsky.socialDuke Freid sure did a quick 180 on the subject of keeping the power of Atlantis out of the hands of the Zaibach empire
#Escaflowne
@sarssol.bsky.socialPoor Hitomi is really being put through the wringer with her visions
#Escaflowne
@sarssol.bsky.socialVery strange that the Draconians are known for having angel wings: you'd expect less feathers from a traditional dragon, and particularly those that we've already seen
#Escaflowne
@sarssol.bsky.socialMillenia claimed to have only studied medicine from books, but she sure did pack an entire surgical suite's worth of equipment for when she ran away...

The contrast between these an modern day isekai is staggering. #anime #article #escaflowne
