Schlumbergera orssichiana. This plant has been over collected in the wild and is grown from seed or cutting in cultivation. It is endemic to south-eastern Brazil, mainly near Rio de Janeiro and is found from 250-1300m asl. Its habitat is moist forest where it occurs as an epiphyte. It was originally discovered by Countess Beatrix Orssich. Side view of S. orssichiana.
