Had some extra time today and day 2's prompt reminded me of ElfQuest soooo here's Cutter and Skywise for pack!

Why elves for pack?
Wolves.
Cutter and Skywise live like wolves.
That's the short answer. Peep the alt for more.

#goretiruff2026 #grezart #Elfquest

Busts of Cutter (left) and Skywise (right), two elves from Elfquest, stand close together as they talk. Cutter is laughing with his eyes closed while Skywise looks at him with a small smirk. Ok so, ElfQuest is a story about elves living in a world with two moons, set during an ancient period of early mankind. Cutter is the leader of a tribe of elves known as wolfriders, who have survived in the forest thanks to wolves teaching them how to hunt. Skywise is his best friend and soul brother. I chose them for 'pack' because the wolfriders are literally in a pack. They live together, hunt together, survive by living by their code, 'the way' alonside their wolves. They are family! That said, these two are the best ones to pick to represent that bound their pack shares. Cutter and Skywise care so much about each other. As the story itself says, they are brothers in all but blood <3 While I am here, I just have to gush about EQ. It is honestly one of the most beautifully drawn comics I have ever read. The story is also so so so gooood! I can only say that about the main quest as I have not yet read the rest of the story (partly because I sort of know what happens to Cutter and I'm a bit salty about it if what I heard is true). Fun fact: Krillin's VA Sonny Strait has worked/is working on EQ alongside the creators~☆ Also, Skywise is my favorite. UwU he's a kind, funny, star gazing, michevious perv.

Original idea: Wolfrider Most influence: Wandering Plains-Tribe elf Bow is made of birch wood (I know it's not ideal but it stood out a lot against her muted earthy colors!) Fur around her shoulders is a lion/big cat mane. Colors are intended to blend with plains grasses and plants to help with camouflage.

Wait, they cancelled the last attempt at an #Elfquest series in the beginning of this year?

FOX wanted to get rid of the protagonist's character's soul-brother?

Why THE FUCK would you...? How much do you have to hate art to even...?

Honestly speechless

contract negotiations dragged on and on. One prospective showrunner was replaced with another. Communication bogged down until we had to pry word from the crew that changes were being considered. For example, they wanted to get rid of Skywise and instead make Cutter the keeper of the lodestone...Comic panel of Skywise and Cutter I'VE ALWAYS THOUGHT RECOGNITION WAS JUST FOR TWO - A LAD AND A MAIDEN. BUT CUTTER AND SKYWISE -- ARE MORE THAN FRIENDS...MORE THAN BROTHERS...INDEED! "IT IS A MYSTERY. OUR VILLAGE HAS NEVER SEEN THE LIKE," "I THINK IT POSSIBLE THEIR SOULS WERE MATED EVEN BEFORE THEY WALKED THIS WORLD." "WHAT'S BORN BETWEEN THEM IS AN ETERNAL BOND. THEY'LL RIDE, SIDE BY SIDE, 'TIL THE END OF TIME."
