Photo taken in December [2005 (c) owner] of the hillocks close by the active volcano el Doinyo Lengai in northern Tanzania, East Africa, famous for being the only active volcano in the world that erupts unique, low-temperature natrocarbonatite. It is located in the Arusha Region, just south of Lake Natron in the East African Rift Valley. It is known as the "Mountain of God" in the Maasai language.
