Been a long time since I got a good shot of a #white-tailed #eagle. This morning in #Arkemheen two of them circled over, letting the wind take them southwards in the direction of #Hoogland.

@atlanticbirding.bsky.social set today's #BirdOfTheDay: #Mouthful!
I took this image the first weekend I upgraded my lens from a 100-400mm to 200-800mm during the last weekend of May.
This #YellowWagtail was busy catching insects for her offspring. 🪶 #Birds #Birdphotography #Arkemheen #DutchNature

A little splash of colour in the Dutch countryside. A European goldfinch taking a quiet moment on the fence.

Last Saturday morning I went to look at the nearby #kingfisher breeding spot after the 3rd had fledged.
One of the juveniles was still sticking around until an older one, probably from the previous batch came to attack and attempt to chase him away. 🪶 #Birds #birdphotography #DutchNature #ijsvogels

Two common kingfishers (Alcedo Atthis) in territorial dispute, the one on the left is looking away and is trying to get away from the one on the right who has its wings up and beak wide open. Left one is the youngest of the two and recently fledged the nest whereas the one on the right is a child from a previous nest at this location. Two common kingfishers (Alcedo Atthis) in territorial dispute, the older one on the right is biting at the neck of the younger one to the left.
