@michaeldiaz101.bsky.socialWhile it came out nine years ago (JFC time flies) I FINALLY took the time to watch my 4K disc of #dunkirk last night.
I realize I am about 10 years late on this, but I am still thinking about that film this morning, which is a hallmark of a great film.
Loved it.
Perfect.
No notes.

@chiddickstree.bsky.socialI went looking for a battlefield and found a cemetery.
At Saint-Venant, I stood beside the canal, visited the memorial to 97 Royal Welch Fusiliers and walked among the graves of men killed during the desperate fighting of May 1940

@bbtllp.bsky.social#PicOfTheDay The very seldom visited Cretinier @cwgc.bsky.social #Cemetery #Wattrelos. The men here all fell in the area across the two world wars. 11 men of #WW1 rest here alongside 36 men of #WW2 who were holding the line as the retreat to #Dunkirk was in full flow.
@breakbulk.bsky.social#MSC backed TIL is set to anchor Dunkirk’s second deep water terminal, adding capacity of about 2 million TEU annually as #Dunkirk expands its quay, hinterland links and #container connectivity by 2029. #shipping #logistics

@streetwriter.bsky.socialI filmed an interview with a RAF #Dunkirk veteran in 1989. He was wearing his blazer over a shirt and tie, under hot lights. We took a break, during which his wife explained that he was suffering from shingles. I couldn't believe how determined he was to do his bit. Courage never ends. You got this.

@bbtllp.bsky.social#PicOfTheDay A lesser visited site, #Tournai Communal @cwgc.bsky.social #Cemetery Allied Ext. Started in Nov 1918 by medical units in the area, & added to after the #Armistice, 821 men now stand easy here including 117 #Russian burials & 52 #WWII burials of the men retreating to #Dunkirk
