#octoberhorrormoviechallenge Day 4: #braindamage The movie is pretty much an analogy & a metaphor of drug addiction. Of course it's not 100% realistic, but the movie still does a good job showing the effects of being an addict & the movie is even based on director Frank Henenlotter's experience when he was addicted to coke (not the soda..) Despite that it's still a fun, batshit crazy, gory body horror movie & the gore effects are awesome! I kinda wanna see a sequel or a prequel to this movie. Why not, If Basket Case could get two sequels why not Brain Damage as well?! It's mostly because I wanna see more of Aylmer, he's such a funny & charming parasite! #octoberhorrormoviechallenge Day 3: #basketcase Not too many people know about this movie except film nerds & hardcore horror fans. The closest this movie got to mainstream attention was in an episode of Whose Line Is It Anyway? & it was pretty cool that Jeff Davies was aware of this movie. Believe it or not, the movie actually got two sequels. The 2nd movie was ok, it was trying to be more of a comedic remake of Freaks. Despite having some moments, the 3rd movie was not good. I once asked director Frank Henenlotter on Facebook If there's ever gonna be a Basket Case 4, and he answered; "There shouldn't even have been a Basket Case 3 in the first place".
