For family reasons, I'm going to have to depart the meeting at this point, but glory to God, and thanks for the ministry of #DonegalPresbytery!

Offline for a moment, as I (among a large group of others) was honored for a significant ordination anniversary. Come December, I will have been ordained for 15 years.
The assembled group celebrating had a combined 995 years of pastoral ministry.
That ain't nothin'
A note for all (US) church leaders:
Insurance companies are looking for reasons to drop coverage, wherever possible. If you have a policy, it would be very wise for you to ensure that you are executing on your responsibilities therein, and recording that you have done so.

A bit of a dive on first, clerks of session and our overall record-keeping.
Then, some content on policies, and how our policies are shaped. Policies and training are not necessarily easy, but...probably a really, really good idea.
Thanks to all those Presbytery Staff who have kept the wheels of the council turning during two contemporaneous sabbaticals!
Thanks for the gift from the Presbytery of a sabbatical! Thanks be to God!
Presbytery Conversations from our Interim Stated Clerk, Rev. Erin Cox-Holmes.
Not entirely sure what Presbytery Conversations are, but I think I'm about to find out!
Waiting for the meeting to recommence, which seems imminent...

"The time of wilderness is a time of creating (or finding?) a new identity"
Strong game
Now, Exam Commission Holly Miller introduces Rev. Leslie Mott, who has quite a bio from upstate NY, incl. solo pastor, interim pastor, executive presbyter, and program founder.
At a point in the feast, the call goes out "pick up a to-go container" to either feed yourself, or to feed someone else who needs it.
Rev. Walter Kondratowski has a passion for feeding hungry people, and a call to a restoration of the agape feast.
Pretty cool!
...do we not do floor examinations here?
...
...it sounds like we don't do floor examinations, here.
...
...
I'm just going to have feelings about that over here.
Intro of the Chair of Examination Commission, Ann Hatfield, and thanks for the service of her predecessor.
Closing out the Mission Conversation with Prayer, to be followed by...welcomes to the newly examined!
Question from the floor: "what has happened to our mission co-workers, those sent from the US?"
Some have moved missions. Some came back to the US, and have changed tracks. Some are still out there, and seeking funding and support.
The other takeaway from our breakout was that the great craving from Global Peacemakers was awareness - attention - from people. An understanding of their circumstances, from as many people as possible.
