Two #doilies I recently blocked. I made these to give as #gifts for 2 of my children. Rose motif purposely picked - my grandmother (who inspired me to learn to #crochet) often made tablecloths of #filet rose motifs. Sadly, I don't have any of her handiwork/items to pass along - only my #memories.

A doily I made for my youngest daughter whose favorite colors are gray and purple. Came out to be 22 inches when blocked. Used Artiste size 10 (colorway was named Cloud or something like that - a grayish color) thread and size 8 hook. This photo was taken and shared on Bluesky site by "Secretive" @secretive.bsky.socialDoily I made, for my oldest middle daughter whose favorite color is blue. Came out to be 24.5 inches when blocked. Used Aunt Lydia size 10 (Delft Blue) thread and 7 hook. This photo was taken and shared on Bluesky site by "Secretive" @secretive.bsky.social

I blocked my Figure 13 #Doily!

Pattern from 1915's "Priscilla #Crochet Book: Centrepieces & #Doilies" [free PDF copies of it may be found online[. Here's a link to my notes on "how" I did the edging a bit different in 'how' some others said they did the same row.

This is my "Figure 13" doily from the 1915 Priscilla crochet pamphlet (that can found online for free). I shared my notes, for how I did the last row's edging, and the start of an earlier row, on Ravelry. This photo was taken and shared on Bluesky site by "Secretive" @secretive.bsky.social

I now have a slight crick in my neck and the pad of my right thumb is a tinch 'sore' from pushing down on 199, out of 200, T-pins' heads ... but, also happy to share that I currently have two #doilies pinned out and drying on the blocking pads ....

One round doily & one, of the two, rectangular "Postmortem" doilies I made are now pinned onto the blocking pads. If wanting a pin count, so far I've used 198 T-pins - so not including the white 'straight edge' blocking pins I used on the "Postmortem" doily's 'casket'.
