Differences in cephalofoil shape between females and males were not always visually distinct but a Tukey post-hoc test revealed significant differences between sexes (Fig. 6). Female cephalofoils were pointier in immature individuals and became significantly rounder with maturity in both Biscayne Bay and Tampa Bay. Mature Tampa Bay females had the roundest cephalofoils. Male cephalofoils also trended towards the cephalofoil becoming rounder with maturity (clasper calcification)."
