In a world where exterrestrial sentient gas is pulled towards the earth, people fight for survival.
They must find out what pulls the gas to earth, and in the process not get consumed and assimilated with it.

Digital painting of workers assimilating with the gas, by deforming and getting pulled apart. Digital painting of people panicking and taking cover from whatever is outside, as they don't know yet. Digital painting of the outside, as most of humanity is "dead." A group of people found out what was attracting the gas and turned the machinery off. This resulted in the gass and most people being pulled into space as one huge being traveling the galaxy.
