①When I deliberately view the personalities within me as individual people—that is, as others— ‘Ah, this is the smile she wear when she has reached my limit’ ‘His heart might break tomorrow’ I can sometimes sense things like that. When, through my tears, the words ‘I’m sorry’ and ‘I’ll always, always be here for you’ came out to that personality, I was glad to feel that ‘I am taking care of myself’ and ‘I am being cherished’. ②There's only this persistent sense of “nothingness”. I'm trapped in a feeling of loss, yet I don't know what I've lost. I don't know if something is missing, or if I'm just thinking something is missing. So I don't even look for it. Even though I understand nothing, I feel like “it probably won't come back, and I'll just keep losing things from now on”. ③It is only recently that I have become aware of my dissociation. At first, I felt terribly sorry for the people around me that I had fallen victim to an illness that prevented me from being myself. However, since becoming aware of it, life has become much easier. Whilst it is likely difficult to eliminate dissociative symptoms entirely, I realised that by acknowledging them, both I and those around me might find some relief.

I used to be the same way. Even now, I sometimes feel that the speed at which I switch my moods—whether I’m angry or sad—is a little unhealthy.
