Not just cubes, either. This abuses the heck out of rotations, and since it now happens by multiplication instead of having to pass it as a parameter, it makes the notation a lot easier.

My favorite two lines in this. The first uses dot products to find the component of v in the direction of a, the second simply reuses the first, but uses the perpendicular of a instead.

It was one of those "I wonder if this will work right" things, and it totally did. Thanks #Desmos.

For the #BlueSkyArtShow, I'm going to take "any art, any interpretation" very, very liberally and share this interactive #Desmos graph I made that shows how rainbows are made from #Lights through a water droplet.

"Reverse contrast" in the settings so it looks like:

$A beam of light refracts when it enters a water droplet at an angle; it reflects off the back on the inside, and refracts again when leaving the drop. This spreads the colors of light so that depending on a viewer's position, the drop will appear to glow with a particular color. When many drops in many positions do this, you get the familiar rainbow.$

In #mathstoday I taught 1st lesson of AL stats. They used #Gapminder, #worldfactbook and the #OCR large dataset to produce graphs and plots in #Desmos. Also my #GCSEmaths resit students focused on nailing one mark questions in their 1st lesson.
