Living this way rubs people the wrong way when they rely on hype and peer pressure. I’m not running for class president. Grounded, factual, independent, and unapologetically walking my own path.

When elections come, I treat it as a civic duty: do the research, compare party platforms, and vote strictly on what makes practical economic sense for everyday working life.

I don't believe in religion—supernatural ideas fail basic critical thinking. I trust science and verifiable reality. In politics, I hate the tribal cheerleading and loud sports-team mentality.

I keep my circle tight. I’d rather be home with Andrew, see close friends, cook, game, or blast electronic music than spend two hours at a crowded mixer making fake small talk.

Most spaces run on leaders barking orders and followers fitting in. I reject both. I’m a "sigma" walking my own path. I don’t want followers, and I won't follow someone else's script.

I don't put up with BS from companies or local groups. Show me data, skip excuses, and cut the vague talk. Avoiding the truth never solved anything. I won't smile through dysfunction.

Most people stay quiet so they don't rock the boat. I don’t operate that way. If the schedule is busted, I say so directly. Directness triggers some people, but ignoring a flat tire won't make a car roll.

Community shouldn't mean turning off your brain. Take the Ottawa Bears event schedule: when it’s broken or missing, on a prime-time Saturday, people can’t even find out what’s happening. That’s not an opinion; it’s a broken system.

I’m gay and demisexual. Real connection requires trust over time. Flaky encounters and scene drama do nothing for me. I’ve never bought into a gay checklist. I don't typically go to drag shows or go to parties to be seen.

I work in tech and hardware reviews. If a network configuration fails, you don't make excuses—you find the root cause and fix it. That is how I look at everyday life, community groups, and the social scene.

Just Being Me: Why I Walk My Own Path
Post 1 of 11

At 44, I don't do social games or drama. I live in Ottawa with my husband, Andrew, and run on a clear rule: look at facts, see reality, and handle it directly. I'm just being me.
