Slow going this morning #paintDover. I’m
Doing a large canvas and using way too small a brush. I have a tendency to do that and don’t realize it until the light has really shifted. #pleinair #painter #DelawareArtist

Just a little street scene with some classic Philadelphia architecture. A little larger than my usual.

A couple of women converse on the steps of a beautiful set of row homes on Spruce Street in Philadelphia. One of the roughly 15’ tall doors stands ajar revealing a sliver of the interior. This was a perfect day after the PA Fine Arts Guild show in Rittenhouse Square, and everyone was just outside enjoying the weather.

Quick little study of a vintage table lamp in my living room. Painted from life.

Decorative vintage table lamp, depicting a resin replica sculpture of a Tang Dynasty woman, casts a warm glow on the wall. The lamp shade has a scalloped bottom.

Happy Friday BlueSky. Here is a sketch of some Sycamore trees along the White Clay Creek in Newark, Delaware.

Looking through a few branches at a stand of majestic Sycamore trees in late Summer sun. The top half of the composition shows a bright blue sky, while the bottom half is a lush canopy of leaves that seems to swallow the sycamore trunks. This is along the White Clay Creek in Newark, Delaware.

This is Benjamin. He got one look at my BBQ chip bag and hung out for about an hour. 😂

A laughing gull stands at the edge of the surf. Harsh noon sun makes the bird almost silhouetted against the sea foam green and viridian waves. We named him Benjamin and he hung out for about an hour.

I love this little shack near the Edwin B. Forsyth NWR entrance on Cedar Bonnet Island. I’m guessing it won’t be with us much longer.

A dilapidated shack among the reeds near Barnegat Bay, Long Beach Island, NJ. The sunlit shack leans to the right and casts deep purple shadows in its interior. A slice of the bay is visible on the right. Phragmites and scrub grass cover the ground around the shack. A short piling post that contains a long-faded and torn paper sign stapled to a piece of plywood sits in the foreground to the left.

Loose sketch of a late-summer meadow in Newark, Delaware. This is along the Curtis Mill Trail.

An impressionist view looking across a meadow. The red tall grass tassels are glowing in the August sun. There are lush deep green deciduous trees in the background, and a fluffy pine anchors the left side. Peak summer vibes in early September.
