Balance transfer card rule: only do it if you can name the monthly payment that clears the balance before the promo ends, and the savings beat the transfer fee. Otherwise it digs the hole deeper. #DebtPayoff #CreditCards

You heard medical debt was coming off credit reports.
Then a hospital bill was still there. The 2025 CFPB rule was vacated.

What can still appear in 2026, and why not to put it on a card:

Biggest mistake with aggressive debt payoff: cutting everything at once.
List debts by balance or rate.
Redirect spending deliberately, don't slash randomly.
Keep a buffer against new debt.
What's your strategy?

A $3,000 transfer plus a 3% fee is $3,090. Across 15 payments, that is $206 each. Assumes a true 0% offer, no new charges or other fees, and all terms met. Check the deadline. #DebtPayoff

Utilization is the share of your card limits that is reported in use.
Pay before the statement closes so the bureau sees the lower number.

Do not open a new card to "fix" the ratio:

Snowball clears small balances first. Avalanche attacks the highest APR.

Neither is "wrong." The best plan is the one you will stick with (and BNPL due dates can change the math).

A missed card due is not one fee.
It is a cascade: late fee, then penalty APR, then a minimum that barely covers interest.

See the stack so you pay on time, and more than the minimum:

You can feel a due date coming and still be current.
That window is the one that matters. Call before you miss.

Snowball vs avalanche:
Snowball = smallest balance first, builds momentum.
Avalanche = highest interest first, saves more money.
The best one is whichever you'll stick with.
Which fits you?

You do not need a new loan to start paying down what you already owe.
List every card and pay-later plan, freeze new borrowing, then send extra you can keep.

0% APR balance transfer is the easy part. A real payoff plan is what makes it work.

Divide balance by promo months for your required payment, automate it.

Avoid new purchases during the promo, payments often hit lowest-interest balances first. #BalanceTransfer #CreditCards #DebtPayoff

A 10-minute Sunday debt check:

1. List what is due this week
2. Mark what is already paid
3. Spot any BNPL installment you forgot

Small ritual. Fewer surprises.
