I´m soooo glad Germany abolished #DeathPenalty in 1949, probably when the German Republic was founded, the previous #GDR followed in 1951, but there people who wanted to flee to the West were still shot and killed at the #DeathStripe, at the #Wall, until Germany was renunited in 1990.
