The Bone Daddy accepted the offerings and spared the children.” A hand gathers a pile of bones and shells left outside a home. A Memory

A chance encounter with a small creature brings back nice memories for Lulu.

Monologuing is the Achilles heal of many super villains.

Laternflies are invading North Carolina which inspired this comic. A colleague found and dispatched one a couple of weeks ago so I had to immortalize it.

You call me invasive, a pest, a blight. I am conquest with wings!” Panel 2 The lanternfly raises its forelegs while continuing, “I drain the sweetness of your world and leave only rot behind. My brood spreads while you exist in smug complacency of your assumed human superiority.” Panel 3 The lanternfly continues, “While you sleep we feast. When your orchards fall silent you’ll feel the sting of the mighty lanternfly!” The lanternfly screams, “Aaiieeee!!” as the shadow of a three toed foot is cast over it. Panel 4 Dani and Lulu are seen from the lanternfly’s perspective. Dani asks, “Was it monologuing?” as a squish is heard.

Little known fact- I took drafting in the 3rd grade. Iwakuni Marine Corps Airstation, Japan. The school was k-12 and there were only maybe a dozen high schoolers, so the shop teacher had an elementary curriculum.

This is the Smorps village from the cartoon!” Lulu stands with Dani and says, “I watched a few episodes to get the gist.” Wandering Smorps mill about Mushroom‑shaped houses Panel 2 Dani steps forward to greet the Smorps, “Hi Smorps… hey where are you going?” As the Smorps immediately panic and scatter, running toward their homes and forest. One slams a mushroom‑house door shut with a loud “SLAM.” Another reaches through a window to close their shades. Panel 3 The village is now empty. Dani looks around, puzzled, while Lulu looks uncomfortable. Dani comments, “They must be scared of us. I wonder where they went.” Panel 4 Lulu has one foot lifted and is scraping the bottom of her foot with a stick saying, “I found one.” Dani grimaces.
