Ty Segall - Melted ('10)
Have tried this a few times & instantly bounced off. Finally was in the mood to give it a try & enjoyed it for the most part. No songs blew me away, but just a good overall first listen.

Ty Seagull - Lemons ('09)
A bit too lo-fi for me at times. Some good songs on it for sure, but I don't think this is one I will be revisiting too often.

Ty Seagull Band - Slaughterhouse ('12)
Surprisingly enjoyed this considering I have bounced off Ty Seagull in the past. Might try him again, if anyone has any recs of a similar vibe from his solo stuff please let me know. I really liked the noise rock aspects of it.

CAN - LIVE IN ARLES 1975 ('26)
As much as I'll always prefer CAN with Damo leading, I do love these post Damo shows where it's like 95% instrumental. One of the most locked into the groove bands to ever exist imo.

Møtrik - EARTH ('25)
Probably their most serene release so far. It's missing something the other albums had that I just can't quite put my finger on. Still enjoyed it a lot, but felt like the least Møtrik album theyve released to date.

Møtrik - MØØN: The Cosmic Electrics of MØTRIK ('21)
Might be my favorite album from them so far. Love the different direction they've taken here, leans a bit more into psych at times. A lot of really good bass grooves, esp on the longer songs.

Møtrik - Artificial Head ('20)
Wasn't really feeling the first few songs as much, but luckily half of this albums runtime are the final two songs. Both of which I really ended up enjoying, so a bit mixed on the album overall but a lot of great moments throughout.
More focused & restrained than the sprawling (and exceptional) Box for Buddy, Box for Star. This is Lorelei’s The Singer in My Band (2026) is singable & oddly trenchant. There are lyrics that strike a chord and I’m not entirely sure why. But I do know she’s got crystal in her suitcase. #DailyListen

Møtrik - Safety Copy ('18)
Usually not a fan when a band adds vocals after them being absent, but the way they're used here helps reinforce that kraut repetitious vibe they have going on. Another great album, extremely relistenable from what I gathered of the first two.
Mesmerizing and gorgeous. Practical Records’ Energy (2018) includes reflections on, of course, “energy,”resulting in deeply moving self-actualization. #Ambient. #Experimental. Honest. Put this one at the top of the compilations stack and play it every day. #DailyListen

Møtrik - Møtrik ('14)
Have been in the mood for something kraut adjacent, so decided to finally give them a try. Really love this blend of psych/post-punk/kraut they have going on, have a feeling I'm gonna be a big fan of this band.

SWANS - Newly Sentient Being ('26)
As sad as I am to see the big sound era end it makes sense. This album is the culmination of the refinement & evolution of the last 16 years of their music. Having seen this tour live it really does feel like the end of an era. Great album.
Go Outside and Play (2026) from housie wallops. #Hardcore often serves as aggressive background noise for me. Not housie. You can't help but feel every second of this. It makes you want to repeatedly punch a wall out of anger and joy. Righteously pissed and equally inspirational. #punk #DailyListen

Truck Violence - The weathervane is my body ('26)
Another great release from these guys. Definitely gonna see them live the second they come to my area. Think I preferred the intensity of Violence, but I'm an instant fan of this band.
Today’s #DailyListen is the origin of deep house. “Can You Feel It” is all you need to understand the genre. You can feel this shit in your bones. It’s a vibe like no other. Textured, evocative, and oddly danceable. Emphasis on odd for track two, “Washing Machine.” Everything here is divine.

Truck Violence - Violence ('24)
Amazing album, when it started with 20sec of blast beats I was a bit unsure if I'd enjoy it, but it really blew me away. I haven't listened to noise rock that brings in other genres that much, so the folk elements were really interesting.
May contain graphic violence
Straight Out the Jungle (1988) from the Jungle Brothers. Mesmerizing lo-fi sampling and beats from a golden era does what early #HipHop did best: convey limitless possibility. “I’ll House You” blended Chicago house for good measure. No bad tracks, especially the first side. #DailyListen

Tom Tom Club - Tom Tom Club ('81)
Not the biggest new-wave fan overall, but pretty good album. Didn't vibe with a few of the songs on the album, but for the most part it was fun.
More Samiam for the #DailyListen. 97’s You Are Freaking Me Out. They signed to Atlantic on Clumsy, and the label refused to release this follow-up. It’s their best album. “Full On” might be their all-time track. “She Found You” is part of their tradition of bad singles, but the rest makes up for it.

Protomartyr - Hotel Usona ('26)
Haven't been too excited with the change in direction the last few albums have gone, but it still has a lot of great moments. Definitely ends a bit stronger than it starts, might be time for a full discog relisten sometime soon.
