It’s taken me almost three decades of parish ministry and a serious period of burnout to learn to be flexible about “work hours”.

If I’m working all afternoon and evening, I don’t need to be in the office first thing in the morning.

I really should have had a dog this whole time.

Whenever I take #DailyChester to the car, we go outside so that he can pee and then we take a staircase down to the parking garage. Chester walks these stairs a half dozen times a week, but he always stops halfway down and resists going.

I’ve explained he’s not a Romanov and need not fear basements

Chester made two new friends at Daycare: Both made the mistake of trying to lure Chester from “his place” at the top of the ramp leading up to the window. Edison tried to get Chester to play. Carly tried seduction. Chester, like Jesus in the desert, resisted all temptation.
