Santorini, in the Cyclades islands of the Aegean Sea. It was devastated by a volcanic eruption in the 16th century BC that permanently shaped its rugged landscape. The white, cube-shaped houses of its two main towns, Fira and Oia, cling to cliffs overlooking an underwater caldera (crater). They overlook the sea, small islands to the west, and beaches made up of black, red, and white lava pebbles. A natural wonder!

Santorin, dans l'archipel des Cyclades (mer Égée). L'île a été dévastée par une éruption volcanique au XVIe siècle av. J.-C., qui a façonné de manière permanente son relief accidenté. Les maisons blanches cubiques de ses deux localités principales, Fira et Oia, s'accrochent aux falaises surplombant une caldeira (cratère) sous-marine. Elles offrent une vue sur la mer, sur les îlots situés à l'ouest et sur des plages composées de galets de lave noirs, rouges et blancs. Une merveille de la nature !
