The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)
My midnight (11pm start) movie every Friday Night for months in 1999, with live performers reinventing elements each week at the now defunct Hoyts Entertainment Centre. Fun memories, everlasting cult film finale.

Been a blast! Thanks for putting this all together! #Cultember

Thundercrack! (1975)

Finally got to see this on a big screen in 2009 at the Red Rattler Theatre in Sydney’s inner west. Wild experience with a wild crowd!

Martin (1977)
A VHS obsession when we finally got a machine in the later 80s; a “Vampire in the Rye” with this angsty, grimy vision of growing up with unusual desires. George A Romero’s less well known cult classic still has fangs.

Repo Man (1984)
My first taste of punk filmmaking at the Valhalla Glebe in Sydney Aus later 80s, where this was a frequent attraction for years. From Alex Cox’s unbranded supermarket items, to wild effects & abrasive style, this was magnetic in my teen years.

Scanners (1981)
My 1st Cronenberg experience - transfixed - those art scenes - even on Betamax in 1984 - convincing a friend’s grandmother it was a scifi adventure like doctor who! My friend wasn’t as keen - apart from the explosive scenes. So many rewatches!

Halloween (1978)
I wore out VHS ex-rentals rewatching this classic moody autumnal horror. Especially the late afternoon scene as Laurie & Annie ride into the suburban night-mare to come, Carpenter’s music and lighting makes this a cult classic + Donald Pleasance!
