@helenbennett.bsky.social has set the #BirdOfTheDay as #BirdSupermodel
This is the legend that was Colin the #cuckoo, posing on one of his favourite sticks. He would fly in, wait till everyone had got their photos then gorge himself on mealworms! Gone but sadly missed!

Bird(s) of the day from Shakespeare’s poems and plays:

“For you know, nuncle,
The hedge-sparrow fed the cuckoo so long
That it’s had it head bit off by it young.”

FOOL
King Lear
Act I, Scene 4

Highlighted text from the William Shakespeare play King Lear. Text reads “For you know, nuncle,
The hedge-sparrow fed the cuckoo so long
That it’s had it head bit off by it young.”A hedge sparrow perched on a gatepost quietly thinking to itself that the strange youngster in its nest (not shown) is getting a little too snappy when being fed. A cuckoo on a wire with its mouth open.

Haaahahahaaa, hilarious art, Sis! 😄😸 Hoping John comes back with a very large donation. It's gorgeous here but a bit cooler. I saw Alzheimer lady and then had red light treatment no. 1 of 9 for dry macular. Hope it works. I'm on Simple diet again, gained back 9 lbs. Happy #FuckTrumpedoDay #cuckoo.

Yes. That's mostly what happens. And with every day that passes by, the distance grows..

" #Stairy" has #tard(?) #classmates, so #morphing is #bizarrest??
Some call #Carrie good things??
" #Goddess", " #HugeBird", " #FitnessFreak", etc??

Channel-billed Cuckoo.
These are migratory and visit Australia September to April.
They lay their eggs in the nests of larger birds such as Crows.
We have just started hearing them this year, so here's a pic from a couple of years ago - western Brisbane.

“The crow, the sland’rous cuckoo, nor
The boding raven, nor chough hoar,
Nor chatt’ring ’pie,
May on our bride-house perch or sing,
Or with them any discord bring,
But from it fly.”
