13th Century Medieval Cats Illumination cross stitch pattern from Sovushka Designs on Etsy. I made SO many mistakes in this piece but I love it and I think I'm going to try to turn it into a pillow.

Finished cross stitch piece. Pattern is taken from a 13th century medieval illumination and features cats.

There is a red border with white detail curves on 3 sides surrounding the picture. Then there are several borders - one row white, one row black, 4 rows of dark gold, 2 rows of light gold, 2 rows of white and finally one row of black.

The background of the piece is dark blue with gold crescent moons and stars. There is a large panel in the center of dark gold with a row of black and then a row of white surrounding it. In the center of the piece are 2 cats, back to back. They are both standing upright.

The cat on the right is light gray with dark gray spots. He's facing the right and holding out a large black rat. On the floor in front of the cat is a red tray holding 7 rather large eggs.

The cat on the left is dark gray with black spots. He's reaching into a red cage hanging from the ceiling. There is a gray bird in the far corner of the cage on a perch with its wing outstretched, pointing at the cat.

On the floor is a gray dog, hind leg in the air and licking its butt. There are what appear to be flames in the far left corner. The dog is laying on some sort of brown surface. Maybe it's supposed to be sacking?
