If you're in a growth phase:
When you end a stream, consider raiding a channel with eight viewers, not one with eight hundred - as long as they match your aesthetic, interests & brand.
The eight hundred won't notice you, but the eight are likely to remember you next week.
Try to complete this sentence before the next upload.
"I believe in ____, so I created ____."
If the second blank is easy and the first one isn't, that's likely your channel's whole problem.
(The center of my entire book is helping you get to the core of the first blank)
DM: "any tips for growing"
Me: "Post the thing. Post the next thing. And the next - But have them all be something that even you would watch more than once."
This is a habit I've been trying to build, and I encourage you to do the same:
Cut three clips the same night the stream ends, before you sleep.
The clip you cut tomorrow is the one you never cut.
In the next two days - Make something for yourself that you never post online.
Not every hobby, passion or experiment needs to be "content".
Even then, having some backup revenue coming from somewhere else is likely necessary.
Usage rights means that the brand can run your content in their advertising for a set period of time. Don't hand this over for free, but don't scare them off either. Make sure it is a part of the line items in offer.
There is a difference between 1) Observation and 2) Comparison
Observation is watching what works and asking why.
Comparison is checking someone else's numbers and doomscrolling on the thought.
Keep the first habit. Ditch the second.
Average attention spans are continuing to worsen. We are below 50 seconds now on a single screen.
If a person gives you 50 seconds of time at any point in any of your programming, is it providing them some form of value? Think about your beginning, middle and end of shows.
My advice to creators: Focus more on yourself and what you want before giving the audience any more keys to decide for you.
With several hundred copies now in the hands of creators, I cannot wait to see how my book, "Create With Purpose" impacts their lives ahead~
If you have read it (in full or part), I would appreciate a review on Amazon as soon as you can! buff.ly/uHyfTtR
