If every scene must end in a clear victory or defeat, the narrative becomes exhausting and formulaic. Why can't we let scenes breathe in the static spaces?

This has always been a major issue for indecisive people: you are sitting on the wall and getting confused when others mention inside outside.

A novel is not Wikipedia. If your technical digression doesn't advance the plot or character arc, it is bloat. Why should readers wade through research dumps?

Yes, I am not Jules Verne, Umberto Eco or Ursula K. Le Guin. But I can pontificate (auto-correct: reflect) on my craft with the best of them.

The idea that any reader interpretation is valid once the author is 'dead' is lazy. It excuses poor reading comprehension. Shouldn't interpretations be anchored?

Without a map, aren't your beautiful scenes just wandering aimlessly? She does not say there should be no outline, does she?

Die once the book is finished. One book, one writer.
And some writers have been bad before they wrote the book.
And...
Books, writers, judgments for all.
Do you prefer to throw the baby with the bathwater in case it is contagious?

Ditching the traditional climax for a 'gathering vessel' structure often results in books where nothing happens. Why should readers accept an inventory catalog instead of a payoff?

Destabilizing your own mind for the sake of 'fiction truth' is self-destructive romanticism. PKD was gen psychedelics. Why prioritize psychological self-sabotage over the actual craft of discipline? Do you subscribe to the myth of the tortured artist?
