#CommodoreFormat it is worth noting, rated the Kixx rerelease in May 1992 33%. Go figure. It ain't that BAD, but it is not a 93% game either. It might be useful to understand that you start the game with a knife, that is marginally better than your fist and knee. A gun can be collected on screen 2.

#CommodoreFormat issue 5 and Andy Dyer is quite clearly taken with the game and I assume his review would have helped the game sell well in the UK. I remember thinking that it *did* look interesting, but I never picked it up.

#CommodoreFormat afforded the game a 3 half-page review and dropped an 82% score on the game. I mean. No. Though, I have to say, if you get through the Annoyance Station that is Level 1, the platforming level afterwards is actually well done, pretty responsive and only slightly frustrating.

#CommodoreFormat still riding high on a fantastic magazine launch, put TNHT first up for review in its DIck Tracy cover feature issue 5. Ms Hamza obviously *loved* the cartoon and almost-certainly over-scored the game with a 70% review. Again - it isn't without its merits, but it's also not good!

I suppose it is a testament to how cool #CommodoreFormat was BITD that it even bothered to include this in its "Movie Tie-In" issue 4. GH was fair with his appraisal, though having zero "Uppers" is a bit weird! The game is fine to play in 2026 from CSDb, you would not have been happy paying £20.

#CommodoreFormat on the other hand, were happy to pan Cyberball for what it is. Mainly - over-priced and shonky. It should be noted that 18mo later, Roger Frames reviewed the game at 80% for the £4 cassette budget release...

#CommodoreFormat were a little less brutal, but dear departed Mr Dyer gave the game a bit of a hammering too. Personally, I think the main sprite is just fine - graphically and spooed-wise, the game is aces high. It is just so horrendously difficult due to the Grem spawns.

#CommodoreFormat were the only mag to review the game, as far as my (non-existent) research shows, and Roger Frames gave it a very solid and high 88% in issue 17 (First Samurai cover). The original CJ'S EA scored up in the 90s, so to stay close to that is impressive for a VERY similar sequel.

#CommodoreFormat issue 27 (Crystal Kingdom Dizzy cover) with its new-looking score table (nope) only offered this budget release a single half page review and Clur nailed it at 78%. The turn of Dec '92 and Jan '93 and well, the C64 was struggling... Nice title SID by David Green - who he..?!?!!

#CommodoreFormat and Andy Dyer popped a 68% score on the game. I think, I wonder, if the 2-PLY mode might be more fun. Frankly, I think it will be double terrible, but still...

#CommodoreFormat at least gave the game a full-spread review, but, clearly, it is NISH GUD! Andy's points were spot on, NGL. However, having just played it, bizarrely - I want to play a full race through. Just to... you know... See. SO later - I will do just that.

#CommodoreFormat issue 3 and Steve Jarrett was a little more forgiving, but not much: 69%. I might try the "Arcade" version and not the "Logic" version. Seems the latter for me was lacking..! If only I had a rule book..!

#CommodoreFormat issue 2 (Rick Dangerous II cover) and Stevie J was more impressed with the game. 69% is a fairly low score, but the heavy disk access seemingly is an issue. I wonder if a CART version could be made..? @pacbilly.bsky.social was talking to me that the Kung Fu Flash cart can do this?

#CommodoreFOrmat afforded the game a proper double-spread review, and a 76% score, which, for me, is too high. There is VERY little to like about C64 Strider II.
