Colorado Rapids Head Coach Matt Wells the first person off the field for both clubs.

Not appearing to have clapped up the fans as is his custom. Bad look. #COLvSTL #Rapids96

Spent the second half of this #COLvSTL match mining hope from the Rolling Rapids match Monday Night.

Champions. 🫶

44’ YELLOW CARD 🟨 MORGAN WHITTAKER

#COLvSTL

42’ YELLOW CARD 🟨 REGGIE CANNON

Initially just a whistle for pulling down the STL player out of frustration, but then turns to a yellow when he shares that frustration with the referee. #COLvSTL

37’ YELLOW CARD 🟨 DANTE POLVARA

Holds Wayne Frederick by the shirt to prevent an attack. #COLvSTL

Matt Wells and Morgan Whittaker were having quite a chat with the 4th official about the play leading up to the goal.

Same with Captain Loïc Williams with the center ref in the field.

I little baffled Beaudry wasn’t sent off for DOGSO by grabbing Sang-Bins ankles. #COLvSTL

32’ Wayne Frederick was the only one to walk back to Adam Beaudry, dap him up and hug him after the mistake.

Character. #COLvSTL

31’ GOAL SAINT LOUIS

#Rapids96 going to be on the #WPIOOTBGW highlights tonight for that backpass to Adam Beaudry and the ensuing muffed clear right to Sang-Bin.

Beaudry dives at Sang-Bins ankles as the gold shirted player walks the ball into goal.

COL 0 | 1 STL #COLvSTL

22’ Beaudry easily catches a long FK from Edelman.

Beaudry also single-handedly (literally) kept the score at 0 against a streaking, solo Sang-Bin earlier. #COLvSTL

18’ Totland’s shoes look at the ball as they cut through Morgan’s feet. Ref whistles and gives Tomas a good talking to.

Whittaker & Minoungou both have been getting bullied. Damet and Baumgartl cited #Rapisa96 wingers as a point of emphasis in their pregame. #COLvSTL

15’ A sixth of the game down and the Open Cup refs seemed to have done their homework on officiating this particular matchup.

Both teams have been called for real pushes and let play through soft ones.

STL tried the “Rob Holding Red Card” play around 9’, Williams bailed them out. #COLvSTL

Let’s go ahead and take our names off the list this go round. #COLvSTL

Can’t remember if this is new, but love the Burgundy Carpet for the singers. #COLvSTL

Kudos to the STL supporters who have nearly filled their north corner wedge.

Their drums are loud, but the now filling South Bank’s cheers are louder. #COLvSTL

XIs
