A young girl in a dark, flowing dress stands alone in a wet field beneath a turbulent, cloud-filled sky. She is shown mostly in silhouette, facing toward the right with one arm extended outward and the other raised in front of her face. A tiny red-orange light glows at her fingertips, casting a faint reflection across the rain-soaked ground below. Surrounding her is an enormous translucent arc resembling a rainbow stripped nearly of its color. The luminous band rises from the ground on both sides and curves high overhead, forming an immense circular enclosure around the girl. Several larger, ghostlike arcs sweep beyond it, overlapping like transparent ribbons of glass or light. Only the faintest traces of warm peach, pale blue, and muted spectral color remain along their edges. Dark storm clouds fill the center of the composition while brighter clouds gather at the sides. Fine scratches and weathered texture cover the image, giving the surreal scene the appearance of an aged photograph discovered somewhere between reality and a dream.
