@bfitzinar.bsky.social#PuertoRico the longer #ColonizerCulture is in control, the more resources it strips from the colony, the less maintenance & repair is done in the colony - until finally the damage is visible to everyone. So it blames the victims.

They get taken over by a "control board" - La Junta - that continues the #ColonizerCulture stripping of all resources - even in the face of mega disasters like #HurricaneMaria 9 years ago. That's why PR hasn't recovered.
