Here's a quick update on today's and tonight's rain and wind. The good news is it's all moving faster, and the high totals are lower. We will have a soggy Saturday on tap and part of early Sunday. Here's the latest update. #cltwx#ncwx#wncwx#scwx#Isaias
Although Isaias is now much weaker and post-tropical, we still receive impacts from the moisture associated with the system. I've laid out overall impacts by region and went further to highlight specific impacts to monitor. #ncwx#cltwx#tropics#Isaias#weather#avlwx#boonewx
Newer model run has my attention. I'm not sure this is a clear "trend", but, we need to watch closely on this. If these potential rainfall totals verify, flash flooding / flooding may be more of a problem than earlier thinking. Pay attention folks - please. #wncwx#avlwx#boonewx#hkywx#cltwx
There will be some risk for flash flooding to develop as we push through Saturday into Sunday if the heavier rain materialzes. #wncwx#avlwx#boonewx#cltwx#hkywx#triadwx
We will see a threat for some severe storms this weekend. Areas not under the "wedge" could see some cells later Saturday. Once the "wedge" is gone, most piedmont zones join the rest for possible severe. A few tornadoes will in the "possible" mix. #wncwx#avlwx#boonewx#cltwx#hkywx#triadwx
Clouds and dry today. The weekend will be soggy with a potential for some severe storms. So, let's stay dialed in to what's unfolding over the weekend. Areas prone to flooding should be monitored. #wncwx#avlwx#boonewx#cltwx#hkywx#triadwx
Here's a quick summary of the impacts of this weekend's rain and wind from #Isaias. Biggest impacts Saturday night and early Sunday. #cltwx#ncwx#scwx#wxbrad#wcnc
Warmer today, we remain dry. Still tracking rain for the weekend. Rain moving in as Saturday plays out. Sunday will be soggy. Would be wise to monitor flood prone zones Saturday night into Sunday night as totals build. Still a ? of how much in play. #wncwx#avlwx#boonewx#cltwx#hkywx#triadwx
Tropical Update (10/7 at 11am): Tropical Storm #Isaias has strengthened, where rapid strengthening is expected. Its not out of the question that we eventually see a major hurricane before landfall along the Gulf Coast. This will be a rainmaker for the Carolinas. #ncwx#cltwx
It's going to rain. The big questions remaining are: how much and where? Mountains and foothills have the highest chances of heavy rainfall. I would have a rain plan for Saturday night and Sunday, but I know things are still uncertain right now. #cltwx#ncwx#scwx#wxbrad
Impacts from what will be left of Tropical Storm ISAIAS, well West, will bring wet weather our way Sat & Sun. We ARE NOT talking anything close to "Helene" rainfall. Yes, the Helene PTSD is real. Worth monitoring. #wncwx#avlwx#boonewx#cltwx#hkywx#triadwx
Tropical Update (10/6 9:00 am): Invest 92-L will eventually develop enough to become classified as a tropical depression or tropical storm within the next 24 hours. I've laid out the model consensus, but do note changes are possible as new guidance becomes available. #ncwx#cltwx
A tropical depression is expected to form later today or WED as a broad area of low pressure drifts east in the Gulf. So, we'll see. Current model guidance. This probably means an influx of moisture our way for late this weekend - soggy. The particulars are not yet clear. #wncwx#cltwx#triadwx
