#Chrysocolla | #Midlander

Chrys modeling a loose, front-tie shirt (with conspicuously nothing underneath) and a pair of high-waisted tight pants, strutting in a confident pose. She does a lot of modeling on the side, and arguably she gets most of her income this way compared to the Arcadion. While not to the fame and recognition as her partner in crime, Honey, Chrys isn't one to be outdone.

Blue-green #Chrysocolla is a widespread secondary copper silicate, typical for alkaline environments.

Ooh #chrysocolla is lovely!

@kjaycee.bsky.socialSep 23, 2026, 4:56 AM

This one's a challenge, MinFriends. On the one hand, it's salt - a cook's best friend - and a tectonic force apparently. #WhoKnew #GeologistsKnow On the other, inherent complexity and being relatively dehydrated is kind of my vibe. Gonna have to go with #Chrysocolla this time. #MinCup26

@stellarplexus.bsky.socialSep 23, 2026, 2:54 AM

“Chrysocolla is on the Do Not Lick list due to the heavy metal content of this hydrous copper silicate, but if you did unwisely touch a rough specimen to your tongue it would feel sticky as its porous and relatively dehydrated state sucked the water out of you.”

#Chrysocolla licks YOU!! #MinCup26

@joscheff.bsky.socialSep 23, 2026, 2:27 AM

These are both lickable, but the tongue-sticking trait makes #chrysocolla more fun

No contest for #crystallography for today's #MinCup26 battle - we have 'I don't know my crystal structure' #Chrysocolla vs 'First crystal structure EVER determined' of #Halite. So though it is a boring structure - #Halite gets my vote today

It's blue skies ahead as multicoloured cubes of #Halite are up against the bubbly cool-toned #Chrysocolla.

Chocolate is great but I have to vote for #Chrysocolla, which has appeared in art since antiquity as a gem, as a “glue” as solder for goldsmithing and as a pigment.

Here we have ancient Buddhist murals in China, Medieval mural in Italy & ancient Peruvian art.

Wall painting, cave of musician, Kizil, 600-650 AD. Intense blues in the Kizil Caves in China have been shown to use Chrysocolla as a pigment. The Buddhist murals shows a Bodhisattva in blue skirt and with blue hair holding a sword on his neck, with draped green scarf, next to a woman in blue kneeling holding a child. There’s a shrub with white blossoms behind them.

Although I love the idea of a chocolate mineral (ideally one you can lick...mmmm ... hot chocolate with cream...) it's #Chrysocolla for me this time.

@alexbooer.bsky.socialSep 15, 2026, 9:18 AM

I just find the #chrysocolla texture upsetting 😭

#Xocolatlite looks beautiful!

@alexbooer.bsky.socialSep 15, 2026, 9:16 AM

My stance on #chrysocolla is usually that it’s meh and gross so this is actually lovely to see! #mincup26

@gawenjenkin.bsky.socialSep 15, 2026, 7:58 AM

Is #chrysocolla blue though?

I first saw it as pale green but have convinced myself it is blue (because you tell me it is).

The boundary between what we call green and blue varies hugely between people due to both genetic and cultural differences. If you don’t believe me try this test ismy.blue
