Here’s something you might not know about my books…
because my books are print-on-demand, you can ask your local bookshop if they can order it for you,
or you can ask your library to consider adding it to their collection.

Did you know that there are places named Winslow in all of these states in the U.S.?
Read “Winslow the Wizard” to see how he navigates a day without magic!

A brilliant start to a three day weekend at @writebytheriver
Had a wonderful time meeting authors and readers at the Bedford Literary festival event, with my brand new children’s picture book The Fire Walker.

Ki te kotahi te kākaho, ka whati; ki te kāpuia, e kore e whati : When a reed stands alone, it breaks; if it is bundled together, it will not break.
All of my books result fr. support by people who lend their matauranga, & my parents.

“Taniwha's Terrors” is a bedtime story about the things we imagine are scarier than what's really there.
I wanted to show that even those who appear to be strong can face fears we can’t see, & we might have the same struggles too.

‘I Te Waokū Pōuriuri’ is a bilingual retelling of ‘In The Dark Dark Woods,’ a story that I loved telling when I was a teacher, and the tamariki loved the jump-scare at the end.
Every picture has a hidden ruru to spot as well.

‘Ka Aroha Au I A Koe Ki Tōku Ngākau’ is a translation of the popular ‘I Love You To My Heart.’
Given that the characters in the original are a baby and adult Kiwi, it seemed right to translate this into te reo Māori.

I wrote ‘Te Kōrero o te Moko Kauae’ because I found myself thinking,
“I know what the dictionary and internet say a Moko Kauae is, but what does it mean, what is the feeling behind it?”

A well known Māori kīwaha-saying is:
Ēhara tāku toa i te toa takitahi, engari he toa takitini.
My strength is not that of an individual, but that of many.
My 3 Māori books wouldn’t’ve been possible without the amazing people helping.

Anei te Wiki o te Reo Māori
This is Māori Language Week,
And it seems appropriate to share that I have 3 books in te reo Māori.

Even taniwha can be afraid of the dark.
“Taniwha's Terrors” is a gentle bedtime story about fear, courage and discovering that sometimes the things we imagine are much scarier than what's actually there.
Which bedtime child lives in your house?
“I'm not tired.”
“I'm thirsty.”
“I need the toilet.”
“Can I have one more story?”
All of the above.
😂
‘Just One More’ might have been written just for you.
