Remove complexity of name & biology is simpler to understand.

#Hippocampus - #Processor
#Neocortex - #LTM (I.e. Long term memory such as HDD or SSD).
#Amygdala - Emotion processor.
#PrefrontalCortex = #STM (I.e. Short term memory such as #RAM).
#Cerebellum & #BasalGanglia: Motor function processor.

Together with Sara Terranova (@Uni Genova), we organized a Symposium on #timing and temporal #predictions in
the #aging #brain during the annual conference of the Italian Society for Psychophysiology and Neurosciences

Focus on #subcortical networks, #basalganglia and #cerebellum

Does visual motion contribute to self-motion encoding in the #cerebellum? This study by @theCullenLab.bsky.social shows that visual roll motion does not alter cerebellar cell activity or #vestibular coding, indicating that visual influences likely emerge downstream.
